The iPhone 12 is hands down one of the best smartphones to buy. Very few other Android devices managed to match its camera quality, OS reliability, features, and build quality. If you are long overdue for an upgrade, the iPhone 12 may just be the right choice for you.
More Options Than Ever
The iPhone 12 series comes in 4 variations. There is the iPhone 12 Mini, the standard iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 12 Mini is the most affordable version and it is also the smallest one in terms of screen size. The iPhone 12 Pro Max is the flagship for the current generation and the largest one. All of them run on the same hardware using the Apple A14 Bionic chip with a Hexa-core CPU. This means that performance-wise, all four devices will perform the same. The only compromise to be made is for the screen size and camera setup.
One change introduced by the 12th generation of iPhones is the lack of a mid-cycle refresh. Usually, Apple releases an S version of their smartphones somewhere in the middle, between the launch of the previous generation and the next one. This time around, there was no mid-cycle refresh and the iPhone 12 price was not slashed. In reality, there was no need for a refresh since the A14 Bionic chip used by Apple for the iPhone 12 is powerful enough to remain capable for several years.
Pricing and Storage
Like with the previous generations, the only difference in hardware between all versions of the iPhone 12 Mini for example is the storage capacity. For the 64 GB version of the iPhone 12 Mini, you will have to pay S$1,149 retail. The 128 GB version is priced at S$1,219 while the top of the line 256 GB version costs S$1,389.
The standard iPhone 12 price is subject to the same pricing scheme. It is available with 64 GB, 128 GB, or 256 GB of internal storage. They’re priced at S$1,299, S$1,369, and S$1,539 respectively.
Next in line is the iPhone 12 Pro. It is the same size as the iPhone 12 and the main difference is the addition of a 3 rear camera. Unlike the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12, the Pro starts with a 128 GB version as the lowest spec version. There is also a 256 GB and a 512 GB version. Pricing starts at S$1,649 for the 128 GB, S$1,819 for the 256 version, and S$2,149 for the 512 version. Since it is not much different when compared with the standard iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 Pro is skippable. The iPhone 12 price is lower and the extra camera does not justify upgrading to the Pro version.
Lastly, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the most expensive and the biggest out of all of them. It has a 6.7-inch display and comes with the same camera setup as the Pro and the same internal storage options. For the 128 GB version, you will have to pay S$1,799 retail. The 256 GB version costs S$1,969 while the 512 GB one is being sold for S$2,299.
